Natchitoches: Jazz/R&B Festival This Weekend!

In my previous list of festivals going on this month, I mistakenly left out the Natchitoches Jazz/R&B Festival going on this weekend! How could I not include something close to home! The festival starts today at 4:00 pm and rolls through Saturday night. It's a weekend full of music and dancing! Admission is free today. Saturday admission is $10 at the gate for adults, kids 12 and under free, and students $5. Go here to see the band schedule.

Louisiana Nursery Festival This Weekend!

Spring is already showing its colors! I've pulled some weeds, but I'm looking forward to planting summer flowers. I would say the best place to be for buying flowers, plants, and any other yard ornament is the 25th Annual Louisiana Nursery Festival this weekend (3/19/10-3/21/10) in Forest Hill. According to the website, they will have wind chimes, birdhouses, swings, yard art, and many other items for the garden. Shrubs and trees of all types will also be available. Bring the kiddos because they will love the carnival rides! What a great way to spring into.....spring!
